Then you will enter one of the famous flower nurseries of Sa Dec, before returning to the ship to eat some Vietnamese dishes. In the afternoon, you can admire the unspoiled landscapes of the riverbanks by navigating in a quiet canal, which overlooks the Mekong River. You will disembark at Long Xuyen's Vam Cong pier, for an hour and a half drive through the Chau Doc field. In this bucolic city, you will have the option of staying at the Victoria Chau Doc hotel on the Bassac River or at the Victoria Nui Lodge nestled in Mount Sam.
Day 2: Chau Doc - Cham Village - Nui Sam Lodge (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
You will spend the day exploring the mythical Mekong delta, land of meandering water courses, lush rice fields and floating markets. Life is governed by the ebb and flow of the most iconic river in Southeast Asia. You will get up very early to take a cruise aboard a small boat to the famous Chau Doc river market, where many merchants and farmers from the region meet. You can see how they buy or sell tons of fruits, vegetables and fish in this aquatic nerve center of the local economy. Continue the tour through floating fish farming enclosures, towards a village of the Cham ethnic group. They will tell you there the story of one of the most fascinating patrons of Vietnam. Then you will return to the ship to head towards the famous Mount Sam, along the Vinh Te canal built during the Nguyen dynasty. At the foot of the mountain, you will visit two characteristic temples that attract pilgrims from the area. Next, you will have a meal at the beautiful Nui Sam Lodge, with its spectacular panoramic views dominating the fields.
Day 3: Campo de Chau Doc - Tuc Dup - Reserva de Tra Su (breakfast, lunch)
Located near the border with Cambodia, the Chau Doc region is a melting pot of many cultures, beliefs and religions. You will cross its tranquil rice fields and mountain outcrops in the morning, heading to a traditional Khmer village. You will become familiar with Buddhism, practiced in this home of monks dressed in amber robes, and you can meditate for a moment in a quiet pagoda. The tour will continue with the visit of one of the most emblematic sites of the Vietnam War, Mount Tuc Dup, nicknamed "$ 2 Million Hill", or "hill of two million dollars" in English. It refers to what the United States is estimated to have spent to destroy the army camp of the Viet Cong installed there. You will meet one of your veterans before exploring the labyrinth of tunnels built in this system of natural caves. This will give you a fascinating insight into the dark years of conflict. In the afternoon, it will "disappear" in nature exploring the natural reserve of Tra Su, which houses more than 80 different species of birds.
